Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components, RWTH Aachen
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Heiner Hans Heimes studied mechanical engineering with a focus on production engineering at RWTH Aachen University from 2004 to 2009, where he also completed a degree in economics from 2007 to 2010. Afterwards, from 2010 to 2014, he was a research associate at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, and in 2014 he received his PhD. From 2015 to 2019, he was head of RWTH’s Electromobility Laboratory (eLab) as well as Chief Engineer of the newly established Chair of „Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components“. From 2019 to 2023, Heimes held the role of PEM’s Executive Chief Engineer. In March 2023, he was appointed professor with a focus on „Production Engineering for Lithum-Ion Batteries“. Together with Professor Achim Kampker, he is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the PEM Chair.
