Dr. Hannes Schmüser received his doctorate from the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1998 and then started his professional career as a Senior Consultant in the Automotive Competence Center at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Stuttgart. He first joined the Dürr Group in 2000 and held the following positions until 2005: Executive Director Dürr China (FAS), Key Account Manager, Manager Corporate Development.

In 2006 he went to Uzwil in Switzerland. There he became a member of the management board of Bühler Druckguss AG (Bühler AG). After five years, he became CEO of the STI Group and consequently a member of the Executive Committee of AFG Holding AG in Arbon, Switzerland. Two years later he assumed responsibility as Managing Director of AVL List GmbH in Graz, Austria. In October 2022, Dr. Hannes Schmüser returned to the Dürr Group and has since been a member of the Board of Management of Dürr Systems AG in Bietigheim-Bissingen. From January 1st, 2023, he will also act as CEO of the Clean Technology Systems Division.
