Christian joined Johnson Matthey in January 2019 as Global Commercial Director, with his initial role focusing on leading the Battery Materials commercial team. Prior to this he held several coveted roles within the chemistry industry, prior to joining Johnson Matthey he was with SGL Carbon SE and BASF SE.

Christian has a Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry from WWU Münster, a MBA from the University of Essen and he took up a place on Evonik´s Integrated Degree Program of Chemistry and Economics in Germany.
